We've all had a nasty bitter tasting coffee, but do you know what causes that bad taste?
The life expectancy of an espresso bean is drastically reduced as soon as it's been exposed to oxygen. Coffee made with these stale beans has an inferior flavour and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The typical life span of a coffee bean is: Sealed in an un-opened bag = 12 months Once the bag's opened = 4 days Once ground = 2hrs Max To make sure we serve you the best tasting coffee, we only open one small bag of beans at a time, and throw away any that are left at the end of the day. We only grind the beans for your coffee when required, that way they're ground minutes before they're used, ensuring that we always serve you a fresh cup every time! For the highest quality standards, Espresso beans should really be used within 21 days of being roasted. To achieve this, we've found a supplier who will roast our beans to order, pack and deliver them within 24 hours. You can't get fresher than that! |
